Rachel can be seen on CBS, NBC, AMAZON, MIRAMAX, and DISCOVERY CHANNEL. She’s had the good fortune to work under the direction of industry icons such as Susan Stroman, Mike Ockrent, Graciele Daniele, and Gordon Hunt, as well as shared the stage and screen with luminaries Dylan McDermott, Hal Linden, Roddy McDowall, Roger Daltrey, Ben Vereen, Jennifer Tilly, and Chita Rivera, to name a few.
Told by more than one prominent coach “You’re like the American Olivia Coleman,” thrills her to no end, while she’s also been compared to a younger Judith Light and Holland Taylor. She typically plays the imperious lady boss, a steadfast wife hiding unsettling truths, or the resolute matriarch.
Speaking of mothers, one reviewer said of her performance in HAMLET: “The traditionally fatherly role of Polonius is played with superb comedic superfluity… sputtering and pontificating in a newfound motherly love.” The New York Times, Talkin’ Broadway, and Star Ledger have noted her work as compelling, commanding, lovely, smart, and accomplished.
Having just penned, produced, and starred in her short film HER TURN, she’s enjoying a successful run at prominent festivals. In just three short months, HER TURN premiered at the Soho International Film Festival, then screened at the Big Apple Film Festival, the NY Women in Film and Television Film Fest presented by iWoman.TV, and AMT Theater International Film Fest garnering awards such as a First Place Audience Choice Award, Best Director, and invited to interview with Emmy-nominated Cathleen Trigg which aired on Ms. Trigg’s iWoman.TV network. And there’s more to come. In HER TURN Rachel plays a devoted but embattled wife/mother who must reclaim her life.
She’s also taken the helm as a director in NYC theaters including 59E59 Theater, the Special Tony Nom Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab, Eric Kreb’s Playroom, the NYU Grad Dramatic Writing Program, and numerous regional stages. Multi Award-winning British director Michael Grandage mentored her by his side in rehearsals and previews, during his production of HUGHIE with Forest Whitaker at the Booth Theatre. Broadway World called her direction of THE WIDOW OF TOM’S HILL “haunting… and wonderfully staged.”
Rachel marks herself safe for having survived her children’s teenage years. She loves her – now - colorful young adults, and in general, dogs, dark chocolate, yoga, foreign lands, and the ocean. She’s a fierce advocate for those living with disabilities and mental health issues.
